Motor Control Done Right

The PicoDrive is built for DC motor props, especially wiper motor effects that need to return to the same position every time.

A lot of haunt props use wiper motors because they’re strong, inexpensive, and easy to find. The tricky part is stopping them cleanly. PicoDrive solves this with dedicated DC motor control and park switch detection, allowing the motor to return to a consistent resting position after each scare.

It also includes two relay outputs, MP3 audio playback, a 60 watt amplifier, and full WiFi connectivity, making it a complete controller for motorized props with sound and auxiliary effects.

DC Motor Output

PicoDrive includes one dedicated DC motor output for driving motorized props. It’s ideal for wiper motor mechanisms, rotating props, lunging figures, shutters, doors, reaching arms, and other mechanical effects.

Instead of treating the motor like a simple on/off output, PicoDrive is designed around the way these props actually work.

Park Switch Detection

Park switch detection allows the prop to stop in the correct position after each activation. This is especially useful for wiper motor props that need to reset before the next group arrives.

No more props stopping halfway through their travel. No more actors reaching in to reset a mechanism. The prop runs its scare, returns home, and waits for the next trigger.

Relay Outputs

Two relay outputs are included for auxiliary effects. Use them to trigger lights, valves, sound-related devices, foggers with low-voltage trigger inputs, or other equipment that needs to run alongside the motor.

Audio

PicoDrive includes MP3 playback, 10MB of internal storage, microSD expansion, and an integrated 60 watt amplifier. Sync your motor movement with sound effects, ambient audio, and relay actions.

Use ambient audio while the prop waits, then fire the motor and scare sound together when triggered.

Programming and Testing

Program the PicoDrive using the onboard controls or connect over WiFi for easier setup and testing. From your phone, you can test the motor, verify the park position, trigger the scene, or check the controller’s status while standing right beside the prop.

This is especially handy for motor props, where you often need to watch the mechanism while making adjustments.

Trigger Inputs

Two trigger inputs allow the PicoDrive to respond to beam sensors, motion sensors, hand triggers, pressure mats, and other common haunt inputs. Use them for main triggers, alternate scenes, resets, stops, or different behavior depending on how the prop is used.
